In boarding school my friend found a website containing poetry of ee cummings, Dylan Thomas, Ezra Pound, and others. We never explicitly spoke about it but I knew if the school staff was aware of this website it would have been blocked. Our journalism class teacher had relaxed rules and we managed to print copies of some of these poems. For the last year or so of high school I kept an 8.5″ x 11″ piece of printer paper folded in my pocket. On one side was Sometimes the Sky’s Too Bright and on the other Especially When the October Wind. These Dylan Thomas poems shaped me.
After high school I kept a pocket-sized notebook with me at all times. I wrote in AA meetings, in class, at work, on trains, and in coffee shops. From 2006 to 2013 my primary creative focus was to publish poems. I sent thousands of poems to various print and online publications and the following list are the results of this creative effort.
